This is the real thing. The SAPN sponsors the Spanish team playing in the All Nations Cup, happening this weekend in the Starfire complex. Spain will be playing against Brazil, Japan and Vietnam in its 5th participation in the cup.

Spain will play Brazil at 9pm on Friday July 23rd, Japan at 1.30pm on Saturday 24th, and Vietnam the same Saturday at 6pm. You can consult the details and results of the games here, and directions here. Come help cheer Spain through the first stage of the tournament!

La selección española está en la final del Mundial. Ven a verlo con la SAPN a la Taberna del Alabardero.

The time has come… Spain will be playing the final of a worldcup, and it will be this Sunday July 11th at 11:30am against The Netherlands.

The SAPN will be watching the game at La Taberna del Alabardero in Belltown, Seattle. The address is 2328 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98121

There will be two flat screen TVs, and a big screen provided by the SAPN. You will bring the color and the excitment to make this day one to not be forgotten.

We will be showing two specials before the game starts. One being about the 100 years of history of the “Seleccion Espanola de futbol”, and another one covering the victory in the “Euro 2008″.

La Taberna del Alabardero will be offering breakfast starting at 10am, as well as different “pinchos calientes y frios” (hot and cold spanish breaded tapas) during the game.

Plan to come early, as the restaurant capacity will be very probably met.

Spain is back in a quaterfinals of a worldcup, and will be playing against Paraguay tomorrow Saturday at 11:30am.

The SAPN, Amigos de Espana, will be watching the game at La Taberna del Alabardero in Belltown, Seattle.

La Taberna is working with us on a menu for the after game lunch, and hopefully celebration.

The SAPN wil be also bringing their big screen and monitor, which together with your passion, will allows us to see the game as if we were in the stadium :)

The SAPN is organizing its 2010 Paella Contest at the Luther Burbank Park (Area B) in Mercer Island on Sunday, June 27th at 12pm, and would like to invite you all to be part of the fun.

Do you enjoy cooking Paella with your friends? Are you the Master of the Paella?
If you are interested in participating in the contest, please contact info@spainassociation.org before Thursday June 24th, and we will send you the rules. (We have 2 sets of paella equipment for those who need it).

The Best Paella selected by our judges will win a $50 gift certificate, and the cook will be named Spanish Master of Paella in the Northwest for 2010

If you just want to see and learn how the contestants prepare their tasty Paellas, enjoy the Giant Paella the SAPN will be preparing, and enjoy a day at the beach, please come and join us!

Entrance is Free.
Each Tasting Plate will be $10 for Members and $15 for None Members.

The participants will start preparing their Paellas at 12:00 pm, and will have to be ready at 2:00 pm, so come early if you want to see how the paellas will be cooked, or come later just for the tasting part of the fun :)

The SAPN, Amigos de Espana, will be celebraing their 5th anniversary on Sunday, February 28th at 1pm in the Aquaclub in Kenmore.

In order to celebrate those 5 years, we will held another typical Spanish, and international, holiday… Carnival!!

Please, come on your best costume… There will be plenty of food from our Chef Clara, Music, Costume Contests for both kids and adults, and a lot of fun…

This time we will be meeting at the Spanish “Bilbao Tapas Bar and Restaurant” coveniently located in the neighborhood of University district in Seattle.
Spanish owner, Juan Hontanilla, and his staff will be treating us to a typical and delicious “Desayuno a la Espanola” that will include:

Felices Fiestas!

This coming Sunday December 6th 2009 at 12:30pm, coinciding with the Spanish celebration of “El Dia de la Constitucion”, we will start a monthly series of “Desayunos a la Espanola”.

The idea is to meet every first Sunday of the month in one of the Spanish restaurants in the area to chat and laugh while enjoying some “Huevos fritos con chorizo” and/or other typicalSpanish dishes for a Sunday brunch.

For the month of December, and as the first ocurrence of these series, we will meet at our chef Clara Gutierrez’s restaurant, Kafe Neo in Mill Creek.
